Apple & Spice and Everything Nice!

Spiced Apple Cider Floats

During the fall, Apple Cider is one thing we just can't live without! Usually, people drink it warm and steamy, but we are here to put a twist on that! Who says you can't enjoy this drink cold, with a bit of creamy, sweet ice cream floating in that spiced goodness? This is a super simple drink to make and requires little effort which makes it even better.

Ingredients:

Apple Cider: We get the already spiced version at the store so we don't have to add additional spices, but it's up to your preference.

Spices: Cinnamon, Cardamom, and whatever else you would like to add.

Vanilla Ice Cream: We recommend either getting Vanilla bean or French Vanilla for a rich, creamy flavor.

Preparation:

There are two different ways you can proceed to make this. If you have already gotten a Spiced Apple Cider from the store and/or you do not want to put additional spices in the cider, then all you need to do is make sure your cider is chilled in the fridge before taking it out. Afterwards, all you have to do is pour it into a glass and scoop some delicious ice cream into it. That's it! It is so wonderfully easy to make but super delicious!

The second way to make this takes a bit more time and planning, but don't worry, it still only requires minimal effort! First, you are going to want to heat up the stove and get out a pot. Then, pour your regular apple cider into the pot and throw in some spices like the cinnamon and cardamom (cinnamon sticks work great as well). Let the cider simmer on the heat so the spices combine with the liquid. Warning: this will fill your home with the most incredible aroma and you will definitely want to drink it all right then and there. Which, you can totally do. We're not judging. But unfortunately, if you want to make your apple cider float, you will have to practice some patience. After you have let it simmer on the heat, take it off and put it in the fridge until it's completely cooled off. Once it has chilled, just pour it in glasses and add a few scoops of ice cream into them. You can sprinkle some cinnamon on top for an added touch and then, drink up!
