We are finally getting around to writing this long overdue recap of our trip to San Francisco. We visited California in June and stayed in Mountain View. During our trip we visited San Fran three times! We walked around A LOT (seriously, if you are visiting San Francisco, please do yourself a favor and bring comfortable shoes to walk in. Heels are cute, but San Fran begs for sneakers)! Kalina wore similar Keds and Ivana wore Converse.
First up, we have to talk about Lombard Street. If you've ever been to San Francisco, you know that Lombard is the place to be. The street itself is so beautiful to walk down and presents numerous photo-ops! The cars head down this street at a very slow pace (slow and steady wins the race, right?). The houses + flowers on this street are stunning!

The Japanese Tea Garden was gorgeous! But is was freezing when we got there! San Francisco summers are COLD! Despite the weather, our family really enjoyed strolling around. This place was too cute and they also serve hot tea!

Pier 39. Okay so here's a little fun fact about us: We love piers and marina's! So naturally we were REALLY excited to walk around here! Pier 39 is the most famous pier in San Francisco and there's so much to do there. We even got to see the seals who came out of the water to catch some sun when the water got too cold.
We also went to Fisherman's Wharf and tried Clam Chowder for the first time. We did not think we'd be big fan's of this stuff (we actually didn't order any our first day in San Fran but our dad let us try some of his!) but we actually ended up liking it!

Here are the Painted Ladies. The colors are gorgeous and they are Victorian style homes!

You can't go to San Francisco and not ride a cable car! We caught one right after visiting Ghirardelli Square where we ate some really yummy chocolate. Ghirardelli Square is a must for chocoholics like ourselves!

And last, but certainly not least: The Golden Gate Bridge. It was quite foggy when we went but it was beautiful nonetheless. It was also EXTREMELY windy which made it hard to take photos (imagine shaky hands trying not to drop a camera. Haha!). But it was all worth it because both the bridge and the view were amazing!
And that wraps up our trip (or rather multiple day trips) to San Fran. We had so much fun in this beautiful city and we hope to go back to visit soon! We also explored many other places in California which we will be going Travel Diaries for very soon! Cheers to the weekend!
XOXO
Audrey
Hepburn. A name that brings about thoughts of great talent, elegance,
phenomenal style, and poise. If you haven't watched her movies, you're really
missing out! She has been our idol ever since we watched the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany's and the rest is history. She is truly a legend and is still to this day, an icon and inspiration to many women.

Hey all, Ivana here! Today, I'm going to be sharing one of my new favorite healthy meals to make, zucchini noodles! Personally, I am a huge pasta lover. Literally mention the word pasta and I'm yours. So obviously when I heard of zucchini noodles I was excited but also rather skeptical to try the recipe, because vegetables just don't give you the same satisfaction as a bowl full of carbs. Well, I was wrong on this one. Grated zucchini is actually a great alternative to pasta or noodles, especially when you are looking for something lighter to eat! I have yet to try them with Alfredo or tomato sauce (the more typical pasta sauces) but have actually been making an Asian version in the pan which I have been loving! It's a very simple recipe with minimal ingredients (everything to taste):
- Grated zucchini (we just use a peeler because we do not own a special machine for it)
- Grated carrots (optional- for a bit more crunch)
- Soy Sauce
- Sesame oil
- Sesame seeds
First, grate the zucchini and carrots into long thin strips to resemble noodles. Sidenote: the vegetables do not have to be peeled. Then, start by heating your stove. In a pan, mix your grated vegetables, soy sauce, sesame oil, and any other spices you would like to add. Put them on the heat and let them "cook" for a few minutes until the vegetables and sauces have combined. Finally, take them off the heat and garnish with sesame seeds. These can be served warm or chilled, I've tried them both ways and don't even have a preference. They're very good no matter how they are served. I hope you guys try this recipe out! It's healthy, simple, and very colorful on your plate! Enjoy.
Kalina here today! As I mentioned in our previous post this is one of the first summers ever that I have spent in the U.S. So basically me being me, I got all excited to get my first job and spend a summer doing what "normal teenagers" in Kansas do. But honestly, a big part of me wishes I was in Europe. That is for many reasons but a big reason is that somehow, every time I go to Europe, I get inspired. Not to do anything in particular necessarily but rather to just live my life right now to its fullest potential. I have a terrible desire to feel like I am doing something with my life and making an impact on others and lately I don't feel like I've been doing much about it. But, this summer, I am still determined to feel that wave of inspiration.
One of my biggest joys in life is blogging and seeing the positive responses whether that be a comment or email, or even a comment on social media. It truly means the world to me. If I'm being honest, blogging is what keeps me inspired some days. So, with that being said, I feel like if I love it so much, then I should blog more often. That's why I really want to try blogging a couple times a week, instead of just a couple times a month because of the positivity it brings in my life. Thank you once again for stopping by this blog! I hope you have an amazing day!
Hello everyone! We hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! Fun fact: Since we are usually in Europe almost all summer, this was one of our first 4th of July's we actually got to spend and celebrate in the states and let me just say we had a lot of fun! First, we had a festive lunch with family and family friends and then we went to celebrate with some friends later on in the day!
This cake (pictured below) is super easy to make and tastes amazing! It only requires a few simple ingredients!
TO MAKE IT
- Graham Crackers
- Fruit (Strawberries and Blueberries)
Layer all of these ingredients and use the fruit to make an American Flag design on the top of the cake. If you are making this for a summer BBQ or cookout, arrange the fruit in a nice design on top instead of creating an American flag design. This recipe is super simple and tastes absolutely phenomenal! Definitely give this one a try this summer!
We hope you all had a fun and safe 4th! Since we have never been in America for the summer, we didn't really know what to expect for the 4th but it was so much fun! We ate some awesome food and celebrated with friends and family! We would love to hear how you celebrated the Fourth of July as well! Until next time!
xoxo
